Kicking Horse Mountain Resort

A location near and dear to my heart, a Kicking Horse Mountain Resort wedding is truly incomparable. Having worked in many mountain venues in the Rockies, I can confidently say that Kicking Horse stands out as the most picturesque and private. It's just you and your guests, literally on top of the world! Moreover, it's where you'll find the best service; the staff consistently goes above and beyond for their couples. The views are jaw-dropping, and the food is mouthwatering, whether you opt for a buffet or plated course dinner.

One aspect I particularly adore about Kicking Horse Mountain is how everything is conveniently close at the top. For instance, the best photo locations are within a stone's throw of the Eagles Eye Restaurant, allowing you to slip away for a portrait session without missing out on cocktail hour or speeches. This level of accessibility is not always the norm for such a breathtaking location.

Additionally, I love the opportunity for the bride to get ready at the summit. It truly sets the tone for the day as something rare and magical. Guests are consistently wowed when they disembark from the gondola.

A hidden gem nestled along the Blaeberry River, Hillside Lodge in Golden, BC offers one of the most laid-back and intimate wedding settings you can imagine. One of my favorite features of Hillside Lodge is the forested ceremony space. It's truly one of the most beautiful natural settings I’ve ever worked in. After the ceremony, guests can enjoy cocktail hour on the majestic field next to the barn, complete with lawn games and a cozy firepit to carry the celebrations into the evening. The barn itself is rustic yet stunning, striking that perfect balance between charm and elegance. While the venue doesn’t offer catering directly, you're free to bring in a food truck or one of the incredible local caterers in the area — and trust me, the options are fantastic.

The owners at Hillside Lodge are incredibly warm and helpful, making the entire experience smooth and welcoming. With a space this special, it’s no surprise it books up quickly! I personally love Hillside for the unbeatable riverfront ceremony location and the big, open field that sets the stage for an unforgettable party under the stars.

Columbia Wetlands Outpost

Golden Civic Centre

  • Centrally located in downtown Golden, BC on Highway 95 South adjacent to the Kicking Horse River.

  • Built by community volunteers in 1948 from salvaged posts & beams, restored and enhanced in 2011 as Golden's dedicated performing arts & community cultural centre.

  • The Great Hall serves as a beautifully warm gathering place for weddings.

  • Ideal venue for large weddings with over 100+ guests, mainly utilized for receptions but also suitable for ceremonies.
